I only spent 2 1/2 years in the Army but I was stumbling over an SOP three our four times a day.

Thanks Mike. I’m sure I’m not the only one looking forward to any intelligence into this latest Avid marketing strategy.

BTW- just today I received a mailing from Avid about upgrading to Media Composer Software. One of the comparisons in the brochure said that AXP only allows four clips in a group, while MC Software allows lots more.

    Maybe this is no accident????

Does anybody know if AXP 5.6 fixes the group clip problem (limit of four clips in a group) that came with 5.5?

A call to Dell solved the problem. A system monitoring program was pre-installed on my machine and required an update. Update has arrived and the problem is fixed.

    Thanks.

Computer is a Dell 670 with dual 3.0ghz Zeon processors. 2g of memory. nVida Quadro FX 1400 w/128m video card.

I’m digitizing at DV50. Using four firewire drives. Each drive shows more than three hours remaining.

I now think this may not be an Avid problem but is rather a computer (Windows XP) problem, as I’ve seen this warning shortly after booting but before Avid is launched.

So far I see no problems with Avid performance, except for that pesky little orange thing at the bottom of the screen.
