Give me Your e-mail adress and I will send You Beta-SP originated PAL clip via Pando. In Pando the maximum file size is 1 G so there will fit something like 30sek uncompressed clip. Hope that is enough.

You could try one of these:
    -Canopus ADVC-1000 A/D CONVERTER
-Datavideo DAC-5 DV to SDI Converter
    -FOCUS MEDIACONVERTER MC-2E
None of these are cheap or very portable but they will make what you need.

Apple ProRes or DV50 will do the job.

“If Sony´s own specification are irrelevant, then we have to rely on the users at this forum, don´t we?”
That seems to be the case in many times, including this.
Just for the curiosity i checked the manuals of Sony PDF-150 and Panasonic AG-DVX100, both being in same price- and size range as EX1.
Both i know work fine at least to -20°C and in both manuals stand those magic numbers 0°C to 40°C !

I bet there will be no problems, because in generaly electronics tend to work better in cold than in warm, thats why cooling is so important to computers!
Mechanical parts do get stuck in cold, for example tape recorders. But in EX-1 the only mechanical part is lens, so it will work fine untill oil in lens mechanisms freeze. I would say it could happen somewhere in between -35°C to -40°C.
Climate warming seems to taken care of those temperatures at least what comes to Stockholm and Helsinki!

I was making outdoor shooting with EX-1 in Helsinki yesterday. It was -7°C and camera worked perfectly! Only battery lifetime was ofcourse shorter, but that is perfectly normal.

[Uli Plank] “My assumption is that FCP compares the number of audio samples with the TC after a batch capture and fixes it somehow, while capture now doesn’t.”

[David Roth Weiss] “I think you’ve got it Uli. Its why capturing as a clip or even recapturing the bad file produces a proper capture. ”

I think You guys are right. I am Batch Capturing right now from DSR-11 with FCP 6.0.2 and between the clips FCP showed a text: “Analysing DV Audio; Validating Audio Data”
