Don’t forget you can save each .psd layer separately and put each on its own track in vegas. A workaround but it does work.

Mike I did the same, but Sony are pretty good about things like this – I’ve emailed support (they’re pretty busy right now) and soon expect confirmation that they will refund $50.

DVDA2 doesn’t have as many encoding options as Vegas, particularly 2 pass encoding, but I see DVDA3 has Interlace Flicker removal.
My suggestion was more to see if encoding MPEG2 worked ouside Vegas. I guess if it did, that would make it even more mysterious why not inside Vegas …

Just a thought – if you input .avis into DVDA, does the MPEG2 rendering work then?

Put your background still or video on a lower track than the green screen clip.
Apply the Chroma Keyer FX to the green screen clip – you can start with the green screen oreset then tweak using the eye dropper if it’s not exactly the same green.

Yes, I’m afraid I’ve never dabbled with 24p or 24 anything – but it sounds a good idea to put this footage into a separate project then try different project settings to try and remove the problem.

There are many variables both in shooting and capture.
Was the footage HDV, DVCam or DV?
How did you capture – straight from the Z1?
Did you use Cineform software – and convert to an intermediate avi?

What kind of tape/capture – DV via firewire or from analogue via pass through device?

Input monitoring can be enabled through the track header (Right Click > Record Inputs > Input Monitoring) but I think your sound card needs to be one that uses ASIO drivers for this to operate.
If you don’t have this, the best way is to monitor by listening to your audio source whilst watching the levels in vegas.
