I am getting periodically on tapes that I’m trying to import what appears to be “white specks” that pretty much spot the screen.. (sort of like “noise”). When playing the tape on the video camera and watching there they don’t show up … just when trying to import to the pc. Anyone seen this before? Know how to fix it? thanks!

What kind of tape/capture – DV via firewire or from analogue via pass through device?

    Hi Mr. Wright ..
I’m using Firewire. It was happening for a bit. Then i rebooted the PC 2 x’s (somehow the program didn’t recognize i had my camera connected). I also removed (blew the dust off).. and reseated the firewire cable on the back of my PC.. and it cleared up. Those same places in the video where this “noise” was seen..was now gone. This has only happened one other time ..which was the other day. I had the same problems.. where the program at one point also after displaying the “noise” didn’t recognize that the camera was connected once i had rebooted and reseated the cable. Maybe my cable is going bad… not sure.
