Apple bless ’em changed the structure of droplets in FCS2 to FCS3

I know to my cost that droplets made in Compressor in FCS2 won’t work in FCS3, however I don’t know if the reverse is true.

What codec are the clips? If is something like H264 then could be a pause over a cut due to the maths FCP has to do.

You might have to convert the clips to ProRes or similar.

Yes this is how the plugin works

Just ‘make offline’ the proxy, import the new clip then change the name to the old clip and then ‘rename file to match clip’ Then reconnect.

Might be a more elegant way, but it worked for me.

Why don’t you colour correct an example to look like sunset and then dissolve through the three.

FWIW I use Joomla on a couple of my sites and always upload using Transmit and then embed the video on the backend.

Well I did make it to the end, but speed read through it so sorry if i have missed something.

    A few points

    1) Having many disks hanging off your computer is not the best working practice.

    2) Why did you use Softraid? You can make a RAID0 out of 3 drives in your Mac without extra software.

    3) My advice, pull all disks out, put a fresh drive into the MacPro, do a new install of the OS, do all the updates then install FCP and do all of the updates. Add another disk, format it as unjournaled and make this your capture scratch disk. Does FCP run OK now?

If it does, add more hardware bit by bit until you hit a problem.

For editing in 25fps, use the free Canon plugin for Log & Transfer

or if you need a bit more flexibility, use my compressor droplets

Use media manager to consolidate the project, then you can make changes later
