Having just filled up my MacPro with drives I can say that heat is not an issue.
The machine is still a lot quieter than my G5 10 feet away.FYI I used 320G drives as these seem to offer the best price/storage option, but
these are a backup to my XSR, maybe bigger drives will run hotter.Peter

It might be the ATI ‘Dragons Head” card though that makes it into MacsThe 8K texture limit is the interesting thing though.

Most transitons on vision mixers come from a hard disk store or two Profile channels or similar.
The only codec that supports an alpha in FCP is the animation codec. So, either kick out a tiff/targa image sequnce that a hard disk recorder can playback or make a key & fill for a synced two channel replay. I doubt if your replay cahnnel will be able to play an animation movie – the card won’tt either.Peter

Check the plugin out, no lights, but it does give you true 3D for 2 planes
