October 28, 2015 at 10:28 pm in reply to: Cinema 4D File Crash recovery on a mac without autosaveI know. Should have activated auto-save… but I didn’t
I found the -bugreports folder but there’s only a txt file there and a .zip with the same text file.
Am I missing something? How can I recover 4 or 5 hours of work from a txt file? Thanks!

Uncountable years on AE and still learning new things on almost every project,
Thanks to people like you. -
Great, gotIt!
One more (stupid) question,
Is there a way to copy an expression to lots of layers at the time?
(in this particular project, I’m looking at more then 1000 layers and copy the expression one by one is a bit time-consuming…Thanks again, Peter
Forget I said that, it’s as simple as copying the opacity to all the layers instead of trying to copy the expression… errr
-
Yeah, it does!
Now only got to get my head around it, I like to understand why/how it works
but I got some intuition about it. Nice!
Thank you very much Dan (you sure are a walking expressions diccionary!) -
To me it sounds like the perspective of the sofa is different from the one of the room,
you could try a different lens on the camera, like fisheye to deform the walls and floor more…
rotate the room until it coincides perspectives (may put 3d off for the sofa during matching)
if putting back on 3d for the sofa, it deforms, you can always have that layer orient towards the camara
(layer_transform_auto-orient_orient towards camara) -
Things go a lot faster if you render in half or quarter resolution (4 and 16 times faster)
if renderspeed is what you want instead of quality… -
What part needs substitution?
is the bottle moving?it seems complicated with AE, maybe Photoshop?

April 17, 2009 at 10:33 am in reply to: Building A New Workstation – Need Advice PlsHi, Austen I’ll give it a go…
-The price difference is a lot bigger then the performance difference
I would invest in RAM instead of GHz
– the standard graphics card is fine and get 2 in there if you want to work with extra monitor
– The same harware is in the DELL monitors, half the price, same monitor…
– I think 32 GB of RAM is overdoing, 8 will work fine and 16 you’ll have more then enough
– In CS4 you can make an alias of the program and work with various copies at the time;
put one rendering and keep working on another copy. This can reduce working time a lot…
– The good deals are on the internetI hope to be of any help

AE seems to like QT standard codecs (frame based) more than modern FCP codecs
Normaly you won’t have problems though, only in some very specific circomstances, like keying.. -
If you’re good with the tablet, Corel Painter for Mac could be interesting to you…
