    Hi all,

This time I don’t have any query or problem.
I would like to share with you my findings.

If you were working on a cinema 4d file for hours and you didn’t save it, you can actually recover it.
After a few hours trying to recover my files I found that if you go to:

    /Users/”YOURUSERNAME”/Library/Preferences/MAXON/CINEMA 4D R15_8C725DAB/_bugreports

your recovery files will be there.

In my case I wasn’t able to access that folder as it was invisible but if you do a Shift + CMD + G in finder you can go to that specific folder.

If this folder doesn’t work for you, go to Edit – Preferences in Cinema 4D, go to the Memory tab and copy your Cache Path Folder replacing “/prefs’ for “/_bugreports”.

Hope this works out for you as I believe there is no frustration as losing hours of work.
From now on also set up auto-save as I just did.

    Cheers
    Joao Monteiro

    I know. Should have activated auto-save… but I didn’t
I found the -bugreports folder but there’s only a txt file there and a .zip with the same text file.
Am I missing something? How can I recover 4 or 5 hours of work from a txt file?

    Thanks!

    Peter,

Did you ever figure out why the file wasn’t generated or how to recover with only the text file?

Thanks a lot for the info, I had similar issues although not a mac system. I was able to find the recovered files as u stated above, but the problem still persist as my c4d work keeps crashing over and over again when working on a project and it gets really annoying. I was advised to update my graphic card driver in my system and that miraculously solved the problem. I hope someone else finds this useful too.

    Thanks
