  • Hi Ty
    Thanks for your feedback.
I picked up a Cambridge audio DAC on ebay and was amazed at the performance boost, The most important difference is the volume. With the full digital signal my loudspeakers gave about “10 times” more volume than I had with them connected to the iMac headphone output – nearly deafened me!
I have a question. Is it practice in monitoring/mastering to have the speakers at a fixed output level for all content- a sort of reference level?
This makes sense to me but maybe not so practical in a home studio.
    Thanks
    Peter

    Problem solved!
I had to change the timeline resolution to that of the clip. No stitching problem anymore.

I recently upgraded to a new iMac with 8 GB Video Memory. I work with Resolve 16 Studio which needs (>= 8GB Video memory) but it works really great. If you can add the interface needed for the BMD video eGPU ok, but then for $2000 you can get an iMac………

Thanks to all for your help.
I resolved the problem by rendering simply in Quicktime H.264.
Actually I think the problem was that Resolve 16 crashed, which on this project (and with my iMac) occurred a few times.
    Many thanks

October 21, 2019 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Zoom F8 Missing File on SD card

    Hi Ty
I installed Wave-Agent but did not find out anything new.
My file labeled 191018-T001 was actually the second file I recorded on that day.
I don’t understand why the Zoom F8 did not record the first since I pressed Record and the red light came on and all looked normal. It seems that the F8 was unable to record that take, but the second take was recorded and logged as take 1.
I now have to work with the camera audio………
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi
You can grab a still in the color page. I have the Studio (paid) version. Maybe this function is only available in the paid version.
If you have to buy the Studio version do it only direct from BM and NOT the Apple App Store.
For some strange reason the App Store Version has a slightly restricted version. For you with Still Grabs request, the restriction is that they are available only as dpx or drx files – NOT jpg or png.

Many thanks to all for your valuable comments.
In the end there was not much discussion with the client and we took a mix that was a straight “concert performance” with no messing with the panning.
I have a teaser that you might like to view:

The whole concert was about 80 minutes long.
    Many thanks

July 20, 2019 at 10:06 am in reply to: Follow focus on Lumix GH5

    Hi Brian
I believe that the new Zuiko Pro range of lenses has a clutch on the focus ring that overrides the electronic focus.
I also need manual focus for multicam video productions, but have gone a less expensive way with legacy Zuiko lenses and K&F OM to M43 lens adapters.
    Best regards
    Peter
