    HI,

RED does not currently work with the FxPlug API, however we are working on making BCC (Continuum) filters FxPlug compatible. The BCC FxPlug product should be available within the next few weeks or so. We’ll make an announcement on this forum when they are available for use in that host.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Judging from your result, I suspect that there might be an issue in G3 that will preclude you from completing the job. And by the way, the Graffiti trial version will operate without watermark for 30 days and is totally free to download and try – might be worth a shot.

Feel free to send the RTF to me (zipped) and I’ll give it a go – my email is peterm@borisfx.com.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Alex,

I’d like to help – can you send me a sample (still) image of the effect that you are trying to achieve and also a sample (still) image of the source clip and I’ll see if I can figure it out. Which Boris product are you using?

Please send the images to me at peterm@borisfx.com

    Cheers,

    Peter.

I think you may be in a situation where you are forced to upgrade to Graffiti 5 to complete the task. The upgrade is a very reasonable $199 and for that you get a ton of new features. As per the advice that you have already had, I second the suggestion of downloading the trial version to see if that works for you.

By the way, are you copying and pasting the text into the text generator window or using the import command and bringing in the RTF?

    Cheers,

    Peter.

May 25, 2007 at 1:14 pm in reply to: Continuum Complete for FCP 6

    Hi Tim,

BCC 4 will actually run in FCP 6 under the existing (albeit limited) support for the AE API, however BCC 5 will be Apple FxPlug native. The Apple FxPlug API has many advantages (over the AE API within FCP) such as being able to show / hide parameters within the filter UI instead of having all parameters displayed all of the time as it is in the AE API. We expect to release BCC FxPlug relatively soon – I can’t give you a specific date; all I can say is that it will be this side of the summer. 🙂 BCC FxPlug will be a separate product from the BCC AE and BCC AVX versions. We currently have some great upgrade deals and actually anyone that purchases BCC 4 before the BCC 5 release will get the BCC 5 FxPlug version for free.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Sorry, some bad news – unfortunately you’ll have to upgrade your Avid to 5.5 to get the AVX 2 conform option. Without that I’m afraid your only workflow is the one that you have already been using.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi,

You can only promote an effect through the Avid controls. Go to a clip which has an effect applied to it and select it in the timeline. Then enter into effects mode. At the bottom of the effects control window, you will see a purple button that when pressed will promote the effect from an AVX 1.5 effect to an AVX 2.0 effect.

    I hope this helps.

    Peter.

    Hi,

If you send us your RED setting we will attempt to reproduce the issue in-house and hopefully will be able to offer a solution to the problem.

Please send a zipped copy of the effect setting to us at support@borisfx.com.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
