Hi Sam,
Bad news I’m afraid – the problem is a known issue and is not on our end. There is nothing that we can do to correct this … it is something that must be addressed by Apple in FCP.
Sorry,
Peter.

Hi Sam,
Thanks for sending along these steps which will help us in troubleshooting the issue. Engineering is taking a look at it and I’ll let you know what they have to say just as soon as they get back to me.
Thanks,
Peter.

HiDarrell,
Thanks for this information – I think the common thread is where the Boris filters overlap so I’ll give this to engineering and ask them to reproduce the issue.
Stay tuned.
Thanks,
Peter.

Thanks for the update – we’ll take a look to see if we can reproduce the issue in house and if so then we can addresses the problem. It may be on our side or it may be in their (adobe’s) side but we won’t know until we can reproduce it and see where the problem exists.
Can you please send me the exact steps that cause the crash . I need to instruct engineers to reproduce this and need to provide them with detailed steps. Start from before you apply Boris to the clip.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi,
Try downloading and installing the free update to Graffiti (5.1.5) which is available from our web site (www.borisfx.com) and let us know if this solves the problem that you are seeing.
Cheers,

Hi,
Ithink the version of Boris FX that you are using might be a little stale … can you please try updating to BFX 9.1.5 (which is a free upgrade from http://www.borisfx.com) and let us know if this solves the issue?
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Sam,
Delighted to hear that you’re enjoying the product. We too are very interested in hearing from others that may also have encountered the problem that is afflicting your system. I’ll see if we can reproduce the issue in our labs and if so then there is a strong possibility that we may be able to generate a fix for the problem. It is also possible that this is not something that we can fix but something that we may have to bounce over to Apple, but again, we won’t know until we fully understand the scope of the problem, which means reproducing this on one of our test systems in our labs.
Can you please provide us with the exact steps that you take to reproduce the issue?
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi,
If you use Boris RED to make your titles, then you can save off the titles that you generate into the Boris Library Browser – these saved titles can be used on any track in the timeline of any project as long as the product is installed on the system. What’s more, the titles that you generate with Boris RED are resolution independent, so if you resize the project from perhaps SD to HD there is no loss in quality. There is a wealth of information, including many free tutorials on the web site at http://www.borisfx.com.
I hope this helps,
Peter.

Hi,
No hardware dongle required for any of our products. The software is licensed to run on each machine separately via software. Feel free to download the product directly from our web site at http://www.borisfx.com.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Andrew,
The answer is that RED is completely resolution independent and will work just the same whether you are using it in SD or HD projects. You might consider downloading the free trial of RED from http://www.borisfx.com to see how well this works for you.
Cheers,
Peter.
