    Hi,

This sounds rather odd … can I ask you to please send us a project at support@borisfx.com along with your description of the problem and we’ll take a look at it to see if we can figure out what is going on?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

December 27, 2007 at 4:13 am in reply to: how to change angle of rain

    Hi,

You might want to apply the rain filter to a new solid layer, apply the BCC Rain filter, enable the “Composite on Alpha” switch in the filter controls, then using host controls set the layer to 3D (assuming of course that you are using either Boris RED or Adobe After Effects,) then you can tilt the layer (using the host x rotation parameter) back to match the POV of the camera.

    I hope this helps,

    Peter.

December 27, 2007 at 4:05 am in reply to: BCC Particle System

    Hi,

One thing that you must do is enable the “manual animation” switch, which is a couple of parameters above the “time scale” parameter that you have been working with, then you will be able to control the speed of the particles to complete the effect that you are trying to achieve. Also, don’t forget to set a “hold” keyframe for the “time scale” parameter so that the particle generation holds still within the frames that you want the stop motion to occur on and then resumes generation after it finds the second hold-linear keyframe for this parameter. If any of this seems unclear let me know and I’ll write out the keyframes that demonstrate this more fully.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

December 17, 2007 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Boris FX exporting…

    Hi Joel,

Please accept our apology for the error in the Boris FX 9 on-line documentation. We will correct this with the next release of that product. The export feature that was described is a Boris RED only feature and a cross grade to RED is available to Boris FX customers.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

December 14, 2007 at 9:07 pm in reply to: Will Boris Red 4 ever work on a G5 w FCP6

    Hi,

I am curious as to what the problem that you are seeing with this is exactly. I have the configuration that you list here and perhaps if you describe the issue that you are seeing then I can see if I can replicate this on my system. Thus far, I have not seen any problems with this on my system.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

December 13, 2007 at 4:41 pm in reply to: Calligraphy Title 3D missing font from old project

    Hi Craig,

I’m not sure what to tell you.

One suggestion is to attempt an eyeball match via an on-line font database search, but I’m sure you have already thought of that.

I wish I could offer more helpful information but alas there is nothing that we here at Boris can do to help.

    Peter.

    Hi Derrick,

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention – we have reproduced it in house and are engineering a fix which will become available as a free update patch for RED 4.2 users.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi Derrick,

Are you seeing the issue while using RED 4.2 in Avid AVX 1.5 or 2.0?

    Thanks,

    Peter.
