I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. The current situation is that I have aquired a ATI 9800 special edition card, and after installing the card everything is working as advertised. I would have to surmise that there is a problem with this X800 card that only shows up with the Kona installed (otherwise this card functions perfectly). To answer Jeremy’s question I am running 2 Apple 23″ Flat screen Cinema displays. for now I will continue like this and maybe return the X800 to ATI for checking. Once again thanks for all the help.

Well Jeremy I just tried your suggestion, and it did not work. I am working with a new HD with a new install of OS X 10.4.9 and a clean install of FCP 5.1.4 I did not install any other parts of the FCP Studio. there are no other PCI cards in the machine and the Kona card is in slot 3. Any other Ideas welcome.

I am using a clean install, In fact i started out with a new HD installed tiger then all the updates. Installed Kona then FCP (No additional plugins yet). The funny thing is if I disconnect one display it works. If I reconnect the display the G5 will not boot up. However installing my friends 9800 card the G5 boots and kona works. there are no additional drivers installed for the ATI. Also all the other PCI slots are empty at the moment

I believe that you need FCP v5.1

I know for a fact that the camera is being used in two network shows, Numbers and Bones. It is used where there is not enough space to put the full size camera and also for various wide shots and on a Jib for overheads. On a recent episode of Numbers which dealt with baseball the entire opening sequence was shot on the HVX200.

November 23, 2006 at 12:54 am in reply to: green screen setup! need some professional adviceI just finished shooting some green screen for Nissan, with the HVX200. We shot at 720p 24pn. the green screen was a Composite components digital green screen lit with green kino flos. It worked great no problems with the keying at all. To concur with the other posts unless you want to spend hours tracking every shot then lock off the camera and do post moves after the comp. Its just not worth the hassle unless you have a Discreet Flame and an experienced operator. Good luck.

Luke, I have tried to make adjustments with the Proc Amp in the sys Prefs, but nothing happens when I do it. Is there some special way. Also in order to adjust the settings you have to leave FCP and go to the finder to access the prefs, therefore I cant see any of the adjustments in the FCP Waveforms. Please post on this. I really need it.

August 30, 2005 at 4:50 pm in reply to: Blackmagic Design DeckLink for Macintosh v5.0.1 softwareOK so I installed the new drivers, I’m not having the same crashing problems as the other users in this post, but I am having a problem where, when I stop the timeline the picture in the NTSC monitor gets brighter (substantially) this is making color correction very difficult. some of my shots are short and have to corrected in the stopped position. But the monitor is not showing me what i am really getting. HELP!!!!!!
