DVCPRO50 Sequence on FCP
Hi..
Im shooting on an HVX200 P2 Camcorder using DVCPRO50 codec. Now I’m done on it now its time for me to edit it but when im trying to put it on my timeline I can’t find the DVCPRO50 codec in my FCP Sequence Preset. So I really have to render it into a DV50 or something to edit.. Do anyone can help what to do so that i can put my video into my FCP timeline without rendering it..

What version of final cut pro are you using? I think you need version 5 or better. I just upgraded to the latest 5.1.x but I was about to see the DV 50 in the presets in version 5 as well. If you have 4.5 or bellow then you might be out of luck.

I believe that you need FCP v5.1

You don’t need FCP 5.1. DV50 is the codec you choose if you shot DVCPRO 50. It is there in the Easy Setups, just make sure you click SHOW ALL before you look.
There is DV50 NTSC, DV50 PAL, DV50 NTSC 24p (23.98), DV50 Anamorphic, DV50 PAL Anamorphic. Pic the one that matches the footage you shot.

Partially I’m using a DV50 NTSC but I want to use DVCPRO50 not DV50.. how can i get it?

DVCPRO 50 is DV50. Same thing…just a different way of saying it.

That is it, DV 50 is DVCpro 50. I shoot alot with my HVX using DVCpro50 and when you drop that into a Sequence that is DV50 you don’t have to render because that is what it is made for.
