Yes I & O works for me, but annoyingly if you drag a title from the bin to the timeline WITH an I O marked, Premiere doesnt respect the out point!
Id love to know how to make it respect the I O

use the audio clip mixer which is clip based so you select the clip and move the fader, or if you dont want the audio at all just select the clip and delete, or hit g (for gain) and decrease by how many db you want to.

same reason that tea manufacturers don’t add sugar to the tea leaves in the factory. Its best to add later to taste.

  • Hi again.
youre in a bit of a corner here as this is a student / school relationship rather than a normal producer / studio/commercial relationship.

If it were the latter and on a commercial footing then the whole handling would be totally different with correct archiving and back ups in place, and complete access and involvement for the dir, prod etc.

As it seems to be the former, I dont see you have much of a “whip to crack” so its difficult.
    Good luck with it

  • “Okay thanks, I tried to get the sound mixer to change his mix, but he already got rid of the project file.”

    really!!

When the rest of the world archives everything for…………ever!

I wish I could get rid of every client who wants a change by telling them Id deleted it!
Try telling him that thats a real shame ………..for him………..as now hell have to rebuild the whole thing

Id definitely recommend the ADR approach to get the best signal to noise ratio, and use a hq studio mic.
This is how its done in the film industry. Field sound is your guide/template/ edit track only.

I’d never edit with media not on an external drive, but my question is will it work it that drive is encrypted?

I dont get this. Why do some people seem to object to paying good money for good music.
You’ll happily part with £££ for a new camera, or £££ for a lens, but music. NO – it has to be free?

    Theyre plosives .
Izotope rx will get rid of those really easily and leave the desired audio in place
