The only options you have are
1) Live with it the way it is
2) Contact the original source and get them to send you the separates
3) Drop the sync and replace entirely with your own music.

The mixed music will have to be very low before youll be able to add new music over the top and not have them fight, and still be at a level where your dialogue still sits on top.

De noisier in izotope rx will learn that background element and remove it, but not in pp.
You’ll need to be in an audio app or se it in stand alone mode and import the result

The Nugen VIS LM Correct range has a 1 click analysis feature.
But its a quality piece of software so correctly attracts a price tag.

I believe that locking jacks 3.5mm are standard across brands, indeed ive bought locking jack from neither sony or senn and used them fine, but the mic or capsule will NOT necesssarily work. Thats down to voltages and power supplies needed / given by each unit.
But the Jacks should be fine.

I had no precessing in on mine either, just plain too hot from a pro level mixer for the electronics.

Distortion can happen at many stages. At the mic capsule, the mic transmitter sensitivity , the receiver, or the recorders input electronics, (this case) or the recording level settings. All must be aligned optimally.
The clue to yours us that the level is not high and a flat line clip has taken place so I guess it’s the input stage.
Plus I had exactly same with a Zoom.
The -20 dbpads will bring a hot (pro level ) feed back a touch and stop it hitting the inputs too hard .
Mine were off eBay .

That’ll be on the front end inputs. I had very similar problem with mine when fed from a line source. Even when input gain was correctly setup I get that flat lining.
Get 2 z 20 DVD pads fir the inputs and that fixed mine

If you download MDO (i think thats what its called, itll scan your hard drives, work out which files are from which projects and let you delete them.
I used it and managed to delete about 100 gigs of material that avid wasnt aware of from years ago.

You can AMA off loads of cameras that shoot avchd which are cheap enough.
I always make sure I dan access media before buying anything. Shoot a sample in the shop or at a trade show , test, then buy.
