March 16, 2017 at 6:02 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC 2017.0.2 Terrible Lag issues on fast Macbook ProHi Joshua,
I agree there could be better ways to indicate of a proxy file is being used or not. One thing that might be helpful to do if you’re not doing so already, is to add the “Toggle Proxies” button to your transport controls. If you do this, there’s no need to go into the Preferences menu and it also provides an indication when proxies are enabled by displaying the proxy button in blue.
Here’s a tutorial on how to customize button layout

March 16, 2017 at 5:19 pm in reply to: playhead not “lined-up” and weird lines on timelineHi Milo,
Does this always happen or is it totally random? We fixed similar issues a long while back but I’ve not heard of this occurring recently. If you have steps to reproduce this issue I’d love to know.
Including your system, graphics card hardware/driver information would be helpful.
Thanks,

March 16, 2017 at 4:59 pm in reply to: How to Detect Duplicate Clips in sequence in Premiere Pro CS6Hello,
I don’t recall when this was added (I know the tutorial calls out Premiere Pro CC) but worth checking to see if either of the two methods exist in CS6.

Hi Michael,
Dave covered the issues with variable frame rates. We hope to add support VFR down the road though I can’t promise a date. We know that variable frame rate footage isn’t going away ☺
For the time being, I’d recommend using handbrake to transcode your files into a constant frame rate. This should fix your audio issues. If not, let us know. Below shows the steps on how to do this:
For shooting footage in the future. Filmic Pro is a pretty awesome app. They give you lots of control when shooting and also allow you to record at a constant frame rate. Here’s a link:

Hope this helps!

March 1, 2017 at 11:33 pm in reply to: MAJOR Gamma Shift Between Premiere and Encoder ExportHi All,
After some testing with the project and files provided by Jason I wasn’t able to reproduce the same major color shift between Premiere and AME – as long as the settings matched, i.e. GPU, max quality and composite in linear color. Unfortunately, I do not have an answer for this problem as I could not reproduce it on 3 different machines using different windows versions and GPU’s. I can follow up with you Jason offline.
One thing I’d like to point out is the difference in color when ‘composite in linear color’ is enabled vs disabled. There’s been lots of post about this feature which I’ll include links below. In short, compositing in linear is gamma set to 1.0. Compositing in linear color will generally look more natural for compositing real video footage, but worse for synthetic computer generated graphics like the example Jason provided in the post dated ‘Feb 2, 2017, at 9:29:34 am. To avoid this look you will want to disable ‘composite in linear color’.

February 27, 2017 at 11:04 pm in reply to: Creating Proxies for an established projectHi Doug,
Your workflow sounds fine. Creating the proxies before the edits are made certainly simplifies things but this should work for you. Though I’m not totally up to date on current issues.
The one area a see potential issues with is the synched audio. Note that Merged Clips is not supported.
I’d try a smaller sample of files to see how it goes before kicking off 400hrs of proxies ☺
Report back how it goes!

Here is a link to a great write-up and video on how the replace feature works.

February 27, 2017 at 5:11 pm in reply to: CC 2017 black frames appears at the end of warp stabilized clip and crashes the render.Hello Bartosz,
A few questions:
1. Do you have any other effects applied to the clip that you’re trying to stabilize?
2. What type of media are you using?
3. What are your sequence settings?
4. What is the error message you’re receiving?Things you can try:
1. Create another sequence with the clip that needs to be stabilized, apply the Warp Stabilizer effect and if successful copy and paste it to your main sequence.
2. Disable CUDA to see if that resolves the issue.Let us know if any of those suggestions work.

February 25, 2017 at 12:50 am in reply to: Replace with clip + clips with speed changesHey Weston,
Sorry to ask you to go through the trouble but would you be willing to do a screen recording illustrating the issue? I’d to get this resolved for you but I need to make sure I understand the problem first.
If you have the time, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks,

Hi Julian,
Just to confirm you’re capturing the recording directly on your PS4 and not using any other hardware/software?
Also, is this new behavior to a specific release or has this always been the case? Would you be able to provide a sample file that I can look at? You can upload to any sharing site. Thanks,
