Boris Continuum 3 works fine with 2.0 as do most other 1.51 plugins.

Yes, some projects were quite large with 50 – 60 300dpi TIFF’s or JPEGS. That was where 1.5 was a real problem. I think the importer issue with Photoshop PSD files is also fixed re the memory leaks.

    Hi David,

Yes I believe it is fixed. For the past three or four months I haven’t had the memory getting sucked out of 2.0 during renders aqnd exports. It does use a LOT of memory. I have 2-gig of 5400 DDR2 in my Decklink system and during heavy renders, memory can drop to 600meg, but it used to go all the way to zero.

Yes there are special 2.0 Decklink drivers. The Decklink guys have been fantastic supporting PPro 2.0 during the development.

  • Niche doesn’t mean “bad”. I would describe discreet edit as niche and we used this amazing NLE for over six years as our principal editor. But it was niche in regard to limited support throught the broadcast industry, plugin capability and proprietory hardware solutions. And it was “small” enough to to taken over and removed from the market. So when I don’t want niche I don’t want to go into a NLE solution purely to support a new aquisition format, and to a solution that doesn’t meet my needs or confidence for the long-term future as a substantial investment.

George, not wanting to push any particular forum but there are DV specialist forums that have dozens and dozens of clips to download, many VERY high quality.

  • Aww, I shouldn’t have said “under-developed”. But I mean quicky and niche like even discreet edit was, or Speed Razor or Chrome or any other number of NLE’s that have disappeared or been swallowed by bigger fish. I’d just like a big mainstream Windows player like Adobe to be ready right now with P2, but I know it’s not going to happen.

  • Hi jan,

I read your welcome posts with great interest. Have you got a shipping ETA for Asia/Pacific PAL markets? I have a large job in March and would like to shoot on this camera if possible.
