I would upgrade to beta 2. There always are general performance and stability improvements and you are just starting a new project so its the best time.

Hi, I recommend you run as few other apps as needed while Resolve is running as it will utilize all available resources for real time operation.

Hi Thomas, can you indicate what format this should be in, what standard that is interchangeable, or are you just after the 9/10 elements? How will you link this to the source clip? Send your idea addressed to me at davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com

  • If you click near the node number it will disable/enable the node.

Hi Tim, actually the supported codec list for Windows is not quite the same as for Mac and both were recently updated. If the codec you are looking for is not on the list its because its not currently supported. There could be a number of reasons for this and we actively work towards expanding this every chance we can.

Hi, projects, the problem you have is all the clips are in the Media Pool taking Ram thats being used fully. There is a long term plan for this issue but for your project best to save the whole project as part 2 and then remove the clips from the first half of the show form the media pool and check. Once you find what works for your hardware config it will be easier for the next project to plan ahead.

Hi, CDL’s are imported with the appropriate EDL as per the SMPTE standard. You can’t place on manually. CDL exports also follow the standard.

January 6, 2012 at 1:08 am in reply to: image cropping?

Hi, there is a workaround. In the conform page put one image in the track immediately above the other then on the color page select the top clip.
For the top clip, use zoom to crop the image, position, then make a linear window and position it where the top image is. Add an Alpha output to this clip in the node graph. (right click) and connect the key out of the last node… the one that has the window. As soon as you do this it will be composited over the image below. you can change opacity of the top image in the key tab, post mix gain on the node with the alpha out.

Hi, first select the clip in the media pool that you wish to have the matte associated with. Then select the matte in the clip details view, right click and add as matte. You will notice its listed in the media pool with a icon prior to the clip.
When you are on the video clip in the color page timeline, right click on the node graph node you wish to add the matte to and select.

I sounds like you have the complete timeline in the one project. If so this is likely to cause out of memory or digital powerhouse errors, particularly on Mac. Try splitting the project in halves, or quarters.
