The Lite 8.1.1 version has multiple nodes now, but was curious to know if it supports adding mattes and using them in nodes. Reading through the manual and not able to “Add as Matte” in Browser an external matte to it’s plate. Was wondering if I’m missing something or you need the full version for this.

    Thanks.

Now noticing if I have a clip with an alpha channel I can add as matte in browse. But how would one go about using an external matte that is not in the alpha channel and you want to append it to a plate as a matte?

Hi, first select the clip in the media pool that you wish to have the matte associated with. Then select the matte in the clip details view, right click and add as matte. You will notice its listed in the media pool with a icon prior to the clip.
When you are on the video clip in the color page timeline, right click on the node graph node you wish to add the matte to and select.

    Hi,

is there any way to use multiple matte channels for a clip in resolve?
Id like to grade different parts of a vfx shot through different mattes…
    Thanks,
    Eszter
