I understand.. you have to double check what the person is doing. But I am importing it correctly. I am using the file-import-XML command. Also the XML’s are version 4. I figured it was just something that was hung up in color, but when I went back and tried to import an XML that I had success importing before, I knew something was wrong.
I just can’t figure out what it is. I did trash the prefs and I did repair disk permissions on my c: drive. Why would an XML import fine one day, and then the next, I can’t get any XML’s to import. No error message.. just starts to import, gets to about 60% and then stops importing.
Do I have to re-install everything? 🙁

I just did try that. Used the digital rebellion tool to trash them. Still can’t import XML’s. Also when I started this time I got: General error 34. None of my disks seem to be full. argh.

If USB 3.0 will be here and gone.. what will be replacing it in the short term?
I just checked and you can buy external hard drives that have USB 3.0.. and we have heard about Blackmagic’s capturing devices for USB 3.0. Seems like USB 3.0 would be useful today. Would it cost Apple that much to put USB 3 ports instead of USB 2?

Wasn’t Apple a leader when it came to new technologies? USB 2.0 and Firewire 800? Those are like 7 years old. We need fast I/O, and with the limited number of slots, I usually don’t have any space for another PCI card (esata, usb 3, etc).
Call me disappointed. But the good news is that it should be cheaper?

USB 2.0? Really? Firewire 800 is nice but it’s like 7 years old. No USB 3? No esata? But it’s like Again, I can get a PC with better specs than this new Mac Pro. Does this mean they will reduce the price? I’m assuming the top of the line model will be more like $3000-4000? I guess it’s true, all Apple cares about right now are mobile devices.

Can anyone confirm the support for color panels on the various levels of Resolve. I know that support for various boards is still forthcoming, but will there be a distinction between the levels of DaVinci? Meaning that if a board is qualified to run on the Linux Resolve, will it also run on the Mac Resolve system (Will limits be put in that will restrict panels from being supported on the Mac system)?

I would also like to know about the future panel support. If resolve will only support USB panels I would be disappointed. We invested in 2 Tangent CP-100 panels and they still work great. Not quite as flashy as the new panels but they do a great job for us. I really hope all the Tangent panels will be supported at some point.

Thanks for the email Doug. Glad to hear that the Kona handles the deck control. Yeah I figured that my deck wasn’t an editing deck and I can’t do insert editing. I guess I’m wondering what the RS-422 control would be good for then with this deck. Is it only for capturing media? When outputting is it not accurate enough for assemble editing? Just trying to not use the firewire for deck control since it’s so much slower (and it seems more problematic sometimes).
