    Charles,

Can I make a “decent” looking Windows Media 1280 x 768 movie with WMV Studio Pro, working off a 720×486 Blackmagic 8-bit OT movie out of FCP HD?

    Thanks.

Or you can do the same thing by logging out and logging back in as “root”. Your password should be the same as your username PW. Run repair permissions from Root’s desktop then log out and back in as your username.

Try trashing prefs first. That’s a common error message when your preferences are corrupted or you have a corrupt file and may not have anything at all to do with your memory(!)

Do you have any PSDs in your project or sequence? If trashing prefs doesn’t work delete the PSDs and reimport fresh ones.

    Problem One-
We are taking the digitized clips and bringing them into After Effects raw and finding the cut points there. Would love to just export the clip from Final Cut or export a timeline, but when we do the quicktime conversion, the clip is compressed even though we have chosen Blackmagic 10 bit and uncompressed from the menu.

    Make your edits
Select a range in your sequence by hitting “I” for your in point and “O” for your out.
File>export with “current settings” and “make self contained” UNchecked

    Problem Two-
When we render the effected clip in After Effects, again we are chosing the Blackmagic 10 Bit NTSC option, uncompressed, best setting and lower field first dominance. When we bring the new effected clip back into Final Cut the compression looks good, but the interlacing is maddening. We have tried all sorts of ways to render in after effects and can not figure out how to solve this problem. It is a flickering nightmare.
    and 3

    Problem Three-
Is there a way to bring in After Effects renders without having to render them again on the Final Cut Pro timeline when we are using the Blackmagic Card 10 bit for render?

Use the Easy setups. It sounds like your settings don’t match.

Tangier, Repair permissions first. If that doesn’t help trash prefs.
