Hello, in FCP4.5 HD under MAC OS X 10.3 on Dual 1GHz PowerMac G4, whenever I open a new sequence it says “Error: Out of Memory”. This problem occurs randomly. So then I re-installed everything from scratch and it worked for a couple of days until today when the error came back. So I take on chip out and it’s fine but then after a couple of days the error message comes back. Then I re-installed a SECOND TIME and it worked for a week, and now here we go again this message.

I am stuck and don’t know what the heck to do. I’m going to go and buy new memory chips to see what happens.

    Any advice guys?
    Thanks,
    Asaf

Try trashing prefs first. That’s a common error message when your preferences are corrupted or you have a corrupt file and may not have anything at all to do with your memory(!)

Do you have any PSDs in your project or sequence? If trashing prefs doesn’t work delete the PSDs and reimport fresh ones.

Check how full your scratch disk is….

if your scratch disks are near capacity you will often get this message too,

    Hello Asaf,

Have you installed any third party RAM modules?

    Thanks,
