    Thanks Kevin

Always love to learn a new feature every day!
FCP is certainly a deep, deep pool of functionality!

    Hi Kevin

Could you please explain this? Not sure what you mean, but sounds like a cool feature.

    Hey Carl

Wouldn’t recommend anything other than our Lacie Bigger Disk Extreme FW800:
    https://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10129

We have a 1TB unit, and it replaced 4×120-250GB FW400 units that were daisy chained (sheez! that was a nightmare!).
Rock solid reliability, and quiet as a mouse. We love it.

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Andy

As far as interactive authoring goes, you can’t go past LiveStage Pro, from Totally Hip.
    https://www.totallyhip.com/livestage.asp

We’ve used it before to author some of our multimedia work. Steep learning curve, but great results.

And there is a great article on Ken Stone’s website:

  • Hey Joshua

Check out this excellent article on Rendering 101:

It can help you get your head around what’s going on

May 26, 2005 at 1:32 pm in reply to: How do I capture a still Frame in video in FCP HD?

    Hi folks

Here is a nice little workflow I’ve learnt, and like to use for exporting multiple stills; saves quite some time as it utilises the Batch Export feature of Final Cut Pro. I picked it up from someone somewhere on an FCP forum, so kudos to you — and apologies for not remembering who it was. Remember: imitation is the highest form of flattery.

In the Browser, I select the clips I want stills for, and add markers to them in the Viewer. I even add meaningful labels to the markers, so I know which still is which.

When complete, I flip the disclosure triangles for each of these clips in the Browser, which reveals all the markers, and their names.

I then launch the Export Queue window, via the menu Window > Export Queue

I select all the markers, and drag them onto the Export Queue.

I then click Settings, and set the following:
    Destination for exported stills
    Format: Still Image
Settings and Options — file format and compression settings as you prefer
    — I personally like .png, as they are compressed, but not filled with artifacts

    Click OK.
    Click Export.

Voila! All your stills are exported.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Eric

Does your Mac at home have antivirus software running?
Is the large file called something.av?

Check out this Apple Support document

Yes, definitely sounds like render files to me.
    Had the same problem before.

Glad to see you back on your wheels!

    Hey DSCA

First rule: Don’t panic. Relax. Take a deep breath. 😉

    Some further questions:

    1. Does the error occur when you playback on the timeline?

    2. Is the error predictable or random
