  • Hi Ange

No, you just need to have your previous serial numbers handy.

    HI J

    That doesn’t sound great

  • Hi Chris

Even better, I think with FCP5 and Soundtrack Pro we will be able to do this non-destructively and within the FCP-STP workflow ie. embedded STPro sequences in our FCP timeline.

I think that is very exciting. Especially since I like to avoid making permanent changes to audio from captured footage; I like to leave all that to our audio mastering guy! He gets very cranky if I fiddle!

Can’t wait to try the FCP-STP roundtrip workflow. Anyone tried it yet?

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Tim

You’re right, it is a simple setting. Just go to View > Audio Scrubbing and make sure it is ticked.
As it’s keyboard shortcut is SHIFT-S, I often find I turn it off accidentally.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Moztu

Whilst an EDL should work to a certain extent, I am told they are limited in scope as to what they can contain
ie. they do not describe all of the editing you may have done in your offline edit, and have problems (I believe) with transferring audio fades, and multi-layered video

    Hi Byrd

Theoretically, you should be able to export a straight cuts edit from FCP5 using XML and reimport to FCP4.5.
Make sure you use the compatible implementation of XML ie. v1.

Apple XML v2 is only supported by FCP5.

    Hi Jaser

I think the 250GB limit has been discussed in the past because at the time that was the maximum drive size available. As far as I am aware, there is no (theoretical) limit
