Not a bad idea at all! There are some nuances I would have to work out to make that work, but it might be less hassle overall…

Thanks! I guess one man’s ‘crazy double tracks’ is another man’s ‘stereo’. I am sure I will get used to how premiere handles audio (I have to) but I still can’t figure out why the audio output would change when I duplicate a sequence. And I’m bewildered that it’s not more complained-about. I have to duplicate sequences all the time because I have to do different versions of my masters (with and without watermark, etc), so it’s a big time sink to re-do the audio all the time. Again thanks.

Really? No one? Do you not care because you just don’t use quicktime player or care about others who use quicktime? Do you just hope people don’t use safari? I am seeing documentation everywhere about this problem and no clear workflow fix at the encoding level….strange….

I have such brand aversion to premiere from way back in the day. I’m downloading the trial versions and letting go of my prejudice, let’s see what happens.

Thanks Andrew. I’ve clearly got some things to learn here. Not sure why I would AMA then transcode footage to edit it, that seems like an unnecessary pass? Also still trying to figure out what everyone means by “spanned” clips. Onward, Paz

Thanks for your replies. I don’t have FCP7 anymore, it’s at my old job. My work, mostly, is making short educational videos with some color correction and some graphics, watermarks, etc. I just downloaded Avid Media Composer free trial, perhaps that will blow my mind. On some gut level I trust Avid as a brand way over Premiere, but who knows anymore. Thanks again, Paz

Thanks, I’ll probably end up doing this. I do a lot of weird stuff involving double arrow left/deselect audio track/drag, your way is faster….again thanks

Hi Thanks, That doesn’t work if there’s an audio track underneath.

Thanks, this is what I do all the time and I am trying to find a shortcut instead of having to drag/snap. Sounds like there isn’t one.
