That one (importing roto info from Mocha), while we all wish would be a simple import, is still fairly easy. Its three not too onerous steps.
1. Do the roto work in Mocha
2. copy the roto into into a AE timeline and render the clip out with alpha
3. import the clip into Davinci as an alpha matte and apply it to your correction

Thanks for the encouragement. I found buried in the configuration setting for the G13 a switch to turn off Hardware Acceleration of the G13 software. That did the trick.

When I’m wanting quick and dirty, and don’t want to take the time to bring the audio into protools for sweetening, I use SoundSoap. It is very easy to use, and does a great job at cleaning up background noise.

Normally, I don’t like to resurrect old threads. But, I was on a shoot in the woods at night last week, shooting overcranked and our kinoflo, which was used for fill had a flickering tube for several shots before it was discovered and fixed. We didn’t have time to reshoot those setups. I just had to trust that we could fix the flicker in post.

Thanks guys. So Its pretty much as I thought. Monster standardized on a center mount tie which is too big for most cables and requires a less-than-elegent wrap.
David, I agree. RipTies are the bomb.

This is the NO1 issue for me WRT using Premiere. I really like CS6 in all other respects. For long form projects, the only success I’ve had is in PPro:
1. break the edit-lock sequence into 20min reels,
2. bake in any speed changes or other non-XML friendly effects
3. Remove any temp effects
4. FCP XML export the reels.
5. Import the XMLs into FCP,
6. In FCP clean up any import problems,
7. Generate FCP v5 XMLs for each reel.
8. Load the FCP generated XMLs into Resolve.

VERY VERY cumbersome. I had high hopes that CS6 would improve the weak XML interchange, but that was not to be. Now, I’m hoping Resolve v9 might have some mojo to help with this.

I spend a lot of time hoping. 🙁

I could be wrong, but this card uses SLI tech on-board to enable both GPUs. Adobe doesn’t support SLI, instead opting for the Maximus approach to enabling multiple boards. So, not sure if this will work any better than a 580. Same scenario with Resolve.

This current method that PPro uses of exporting the full project in XML exports is OK with Davinci Resolve. In Resolve’s “load” XML process Iin the Conform page, when you select your PPro XML file, in the initial import parameters panel that appears there is a twirl down parameter at the top which allows you to select -by Name, which sequence to import. Resolve will only load in the sequence you select. You can use tat same XML file to create multiple Session-from-different-PPro-sequences in Resolve if you desire.

Not a bug, it’s a feature!
