Sorry if a NBC/Universal Owned and Operated station in the top 5 media market in the US doesn’t meet your criteria for organizations that should be trusted to make a good software purchase decision. Bill, do you ever think of just how snotty you come off to people?

It does it all at once. Ingest and rename. You don’t have to transfer and/or transcode if you don’t want to. No different than importing the 200 clips. You’re just having them renamed when you import them.

Prelude CC 2015 doesn’t seem to be recognizing AVCHD file structure at the very top. You can drill down to the clips, but it’s not working like it used to where you pointed it to an AVCHD structure and it just showed you the clips.
Older file structures are working fine, but stuff I just shot yesterday is not being seen correctly.
The “View As” dropdown defaults to File Directory and all other options are greyed out.

That’s exactly what you can do with a multicam clip. Select (or option select) any clip and toggle through it’s angles/tracks with the number keys.

You can create a multicam clip of everything then Open In Timeline and arrange/add/duplicate audio tracks to go with whatever camera angle you choose. Then select Audio Follows Video when you go to cut it.

I agree. I’m most productive in Adobe’s hallway. I enter through prelude and go from there. It’s why I want to see media browser in every product. One Director I work with a lot picks his shots in prelude and then just leaves the project sitting on my premiere pro doorstep.

There’s a lot of ways to do what you want, but what you’re probably wanting is to: Import your shots, select them all in the Project Bin, right click and choose Modify-Audio Channels, set number of tracks to 2, set the Channel Format to mono.
This does not affect clips that are already in a timeline.
You can change this back at any time.

That’s a little nutty to be sure. But I’ve only ever built presets from the Default layout. Glad you’re getting some clarity on it all.
IMHO it’s really worth it to just learn the default layout. It’s really well thought out.

Maybe you haven’t actually saved and/or loaded the changes you thought you did. Check that and also try trashing your preferences to get all that to reload from scratch.
