Just go to Audio/Video settings in FCP.
Go to the capture setting you want to duplicate.
Hit duplicate.
Edit the duplicate.
Change to ProRes. -
H264 is ‘supported’. As long as you just do simple edits.
You don’t want to render a h264 timeline in FCP. Or use effects or whatever.Convert to ProRes. (Mpeg streamclip or Compressor) Edit in ProRes.

That’s fine, but i would go to a ‘physical’ store.
G-drive’s are great. But you should always backup important stuff to 2 drives.
G-drives are hitachi.G-speed Q is a great RAID5 product. But more expensive.

If you want to edit with 4K photo’s.
Don’t use FCP. This is normal behaviour.
Use After effects or Motion.

Get 2 G-drives and sync manually. You won’t have RAID1/RAID5 safety for that money.
Or get 2 internal SATA drives and do a software RAID1.

Call AJA. They will help you and/or replace it.

How is the behaviour when you set EXTERNAL VIDEO to OFF??

When you remove the Decklink drivers the issue is gone? ( or set External video to OFF )
I have had 2 MacPro’s with these issues. They are replaced with AJA cards. Issues are gone.
Blackmagic has serious issues here.
