My FCP was telling me out of memory when trying to render. I have dealt with this in the past with all trix suggested, and i have been able to manage getting past it until now. I broke down and bought additional RAM. When I went to add the new I found each slot was already full. After reading what to do in this situation, I swapped out the inner most 2 matching pairs that had the largest chips. And now I still get the same error.
    I have 4g avail RAM
    and plenty of HD space
It’s not a huge project just a bit of compositing.k

    thanks

I’ve gotten “out of memory” errors when working with still photos that have a pixel count of more than 4,000 on any side of the image. I learned that FCP will only handle photos up to that size. Rescaling the photo to a smaller size has always cleared up the problem.

If you want to edit with 4K photo’s.

Don’t use FCP. This is normal behaviour.

    Use After effects or Motion.

    That’s right.
If you want to do it in FC, reduce the size, and better if you avoid JPEGs.
