You can’t monitor HDV trough the deck in realtime.

DV timeline. Firewire DV, no problem

HDV-> get a Decklink, Matrox or AJA solution.

Have you connected it to a phantom powered audio connection?
If yes your connections could be toast.
    Call AJA.

  • Which slot you installed Decklink?

I have experienced 2 independent MacPro cases where ProRes timelines would crash all the time with Blackmagic cards.

External video OFF, and the problem was gone.

No they have AJA cards and never had any problems.
Maybee because the AJA cards have a framebuffer.

Something is def going on here lately with Blackmagic.
I like the Blackmagic stuff and i never had much problems with the cards, but lately AJA is my first choice.

MOTU is great with audio interfaces, but the video interfaces i’ve tested can’t be compared to Matrox, AJA or Decklink solutions.

Great specs doesn’t mean the drivers are good.

The first MOTU video interface i’ve tested with FCP had PAL/NTSC signals messed up.

You should upgrade to FCP7 at least to get it to work.
Then you should choose the proper EASY SETUP.
