I tried changing settings to no paging file & got this message.
‘If you disable the paging file or set it to less than 800 MB & a system error occurs Windows might not record details that could identify the problem . Do you wish to proceed.’
Did you just ignore message, or were you able to put the file on another drive or partition. If so how did you do that?
Or did you just realize that many Windows messages are just meaningless. I can’t recall how many times Windows says you have a problem & was going to check for a solution & not once has it ever returned a result.
Thanks in advance

G Spot appears to be 7 years old now. I now have Mediainfo on a portable drive. This program is yet another one that comes with crapware, but at least they tell you that & once it’s installed Malwarebyres can detect & delete the unwanted extras.
Thanks in advance

I finally have it working. It seems that the USB comes with its own software which I wasn’t given. I now have it all installed.
I have no ideas as to what will be found on these old tapes. I just intend to let the machine just run with all of its output onto a HDD which is on a caddy. I have only recorded 2 minutes just as a test.
I had expected the original was old analogue footage supposedly recorded in PAL 720×576. I reality I feel certain that its resolution much lower. I had the devise set to record PAL-B. Mediainfo tool tells me that its 352×240 at 29.97fps. I have no idea as to how it got to be an NTSC file, since it was all recorded in OZ on a PAL camera.
It appears to have come from a camcorder that had a very early attempt at a stabilizer which consists of it having drawn black box around the video. To fill the screen I would need to use track motion to eliminate
I suppose that I can play with the sound a bit. But the biggest change that might give the original a bit of a boost might be to add a dash from the sharpen tool as well as brightness & contrast.
Some options don’t appear under rendering options are the other Pal options. From what I recall was to render at 360×288 & still have a compliant file for either a DVD or I suppose even a Blu-ray.
Is this correct? If I specify a smaller frame size I think the program is just putting the same amount of data into a smaller container which would then not play full screen?
Thanks in advance

Doesn’t Windows Movie Maker require input from FIREWIRE?

I followed this proceed sometime back & it worked just fine.
I tried it again the other day & have problems. I set DVDA back to a DVD project & dragged the AC3 file onto blue background. The file size was 180 MB. I clicked make DVD then prepare & told the program to save it to desktop. When I opened the Video_ts file in Vegas & dragged the vob file to the timeline the clip was only 5 seconds long.
I went back to the DVDA which was still open & clinked on Optimize disk looked at the tabs & saw that the duration was set to 5 seconds for video. How do I get it to match the duration of the audio?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the offer but I must decline because no only is the original quality is so poor and also because there is lots of footage.
I have however found a free audio clip that I can use. To achieve what I want I have to duplicate it several times & then use normalize, audio volume envelope as well as the inbuilt audio track FX.
Thanks in advance

September 25, 2014 at 2:54 am in reply to: What is the difference between Stereo, 2 Channels and Dual Stereo?I was recently asked if it’s possible to upgrade the audio in Vegas from the original into some sort of surround sound. As I see it it might be possible to add rear audio tracks with general ambient sound as well as other things in the background like a train going by etc.
Thanks in advance

Yes it previews properly in DVDA. I have had similar strange things happen before.
Maybe I will just make a very small alteration to the project like move a button or change a background give the project a new name & render it again after it previews. Although I mist admit changing the project name a little & then going to make disk the programs always wants to guide you to previously rendered projects even though your current project has a new name.
Thanks in advance

It was the latest version of CCleaner that I used which had been downloaded the same day. I only resentfully noticed that this program has a another tab for Applications & on that list is Sony Vegas. I don’t know it its a new feature or not or whether or not my problem came from there. I notice that the program also has a tab for advanced users for it to clean out other types of files so maybe this could be ticked at the end of a project & it could clear out old sound peaks etc.
Thanks in advance

I was busy so I put off re installing DVDA 6. Before I did so I decided to take one last look to see if things were the same. They weren’t all of the themes buttons etc were back in place once more. I found that puzzling & forgot about it for a while.
I hadn’t done a PC cleanup for a few days so I ran CCleaner. I don’t have the program set to automatically delete what it finds, because I like to see what it finds. Listed for deleting were entries from DVDA.
I don’t know how to post pictures in this forum but I did capture a small jpeg of some of them, in case there is a way to display them if wanted. In any event I didn’t delete the from what CCleaner found. In any event the background, buttons etc appear to be the same ones that have been around for years so there usage has been minimal for me.
Thanks in advance
