Sorry Tim. I using CC 7.2.1

Only sort of understand the title “master” concept you describe. I don’t know if it has a bearing but I would generate brand new titles and still not be able to insert or overwrite, I will conduct more tests by dragging titles into TK instead

  • Ok maybe I can come at it a different way, say if a shot is *very* dark and I want to save it to a bin with the effect (levels) applied – how would I copy the shot with effect to a bin?

  • actually video that is copied from the timeline with an effect

April 10, 2014 at 6:29 pm in reply to: over long sequence that is mostly empty

An example of what I’m talking about happens when I make a new seq by dragging a sub-clips that runs a second to the “new item” icon at the bottom (because I want the seq settings to match the source) – it makes a new sequence that is 10:01 min long. Why is Premeire generating this huge work area that is in effect a 99% empty timeline? It hammer my ability to use the horiz scroll bar art the bottom effectively. Where do I go shot shorten this seq duration – that really should extend in duration only as I add additional content.

    Thanks in advance

Thanks – but that address the inability to use the horiz scroll when zoomed in a little (incredibly oversensitive) because the seq/timeline is 90% empty. It has 2min of content and the seq thinks it’s 12min – but there is nothing after the 2 min mark

  • Thanks Eric,

Since I haven’t encountered these delays before, it’s comforting to hear you have too. I’ll look into the droplet idea, again thanks

  • Thanks Craig,

Seems I misread the problem but am not out of the woods yet. The error I described was the result of sourcing from a write-protected client drive… and I had the default target set to source… so that won’t work. Now that I’m wise to that (changed the default target) I’m still wrestling with something I encountered originally but never mentioned in my post.

When I try to apply a setting (drag & drop ProRes 422 preset) to the selected list of Canon MVI Qts (h.264) in my batch window (about 175) there is a really long delay where the cursor has a green plus sign and is thinking/processing. I’m waiting on it now because the setting has not “taken” and I can’t start the batch. At this point it’s been over 15 minutes and the green plus cursor is now a spinning beach ball… why is it taking this long? Just not used to these delays, any reason to think that Compressor 4 would do a better job?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks Craig, how long has this been the case?

In a reply to a posting I made this year (almost sure that recently) someone seemingly in the know, referred to the standard Qt Player as ‘junk’.

In the Quick Start Guide for the plug-in (XDCAM_EX_Log_and_Transfer_Plugin_1_2_0) notice it is dated 2008 and the guide makes reference to the BPAV folder that now longer exists in this new directory

    Clip
    CUEUP.XML
    DISCMETA.XML
    Edit
    General
    MEDIAPRO.XML
    Sub
    Take
    Thmbnl

Ok I see that there is one more thing to install (thought it was part oif the other install) and that is XDCAM EX LOG AND TRANSFER PLUG-IN

I ran the installer bust still get the same FCP error. Is there supposed to be an plugin in in the Library->Pref->Final Cut Pro User Data folder? Because there is nothing there
