Sorry, I realise I probably wasn’t being as clear as I could have been.

Basically I want to create (for example) a cube in illustrator and then rotate it in after effects. I’m starting to think this isn’t possible and I will need to get Cinema 4D instead.

“The key was changing your whole profile in windows.”

Do you mean making a new user account?

    join the club dude!

i was told to check the “secret preferences” and change the settings to flush the cache after every 1 frame, but using the technique described to access the secret preferences does not work.

i wish i could help, but i’m still stuck with the same unresolved problem.

Well the RAM is definetly working, but the first time I had this message was when i was rendering a file that was thousands of pixels high and wide. Now I seem to get it whenever I am doing any kind of animation, just re-rendering a quicktime seems to be ok.

So, it only seems to be when there are a few effects and filters in use that it struggles.

I’ll try the secret preference and purge the RAM while rendering, then if it continues i’ll get back on here!

hmm, i don’t think it’s the operating system. we use mac os x at work and i’ve never had a problem with after effects on it, the machine i have at home now is the same specs as those at work (except it has more RAM) and i’ve only ever noticed the problem on my home machine.

it has to be something to do with the graphics card or some other such problem as they are the only differences between the machines (that i can identify anyway!!) 🙂
