AE switch comp shortcut?
Posted by Paul Cope on August 26, 2013 at 2:35 pmHi,
Very quick question to all those ae gurus out there. Is there a keyboard shortcut for moving between different open compositions in AE CS6? Like you would Control+Tab to move between different browser windows, but an ae comp equivalent?
All help greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

Shift+, (comma) or Shift+. (period)”
You’ll need multiple Comp Viewers open for this to work and to have the keyboard focus on the Comp window. It doesn’t appear to work when keyboard focus is on the Timeline.
Note that if you open another Comp viewer then dock them together you may need to unlock one of them for the Timeline to switch between Comps.
Here’s how it works:

April 15, 2016 at 1:44 pmBecause it is the Composition panel, it does this ALPHABETICALLY and not in the order of tabs in the Timeline. More confusingly, It goes A-Z, then a-z (ie Uppercase then lowercase) so you have to put your TABS in that order for it to make sense, and keep clicking on the Composition window, thus possibly accidentally moving things. But good to know
