Have missed the last couple of days at this forum.
So I was little taken aback with the vociferous froufoura around the 5600K preset issue.
Either my color vision is going to heck in a hand basket or the HPX500 I purchased last September does not have this problem. In any case I do not notice any color cast on footage shot out of doors with the 5600K preset. Am I also to understand the manual white balance using the old white card method doesn’t work?
I was just shooting outside this afternoon and the footage included large portions of sky (albeit shot with ND filter) none of which looked greenish on my HD monitor after ingest. Am I missing something?

Richard,
I’m viewing on a Panasonic LH80WP monitor (7.5″) HD component when shooting, and a Sony LMD 232W (23″) through a Kona 3 HD SDI connection after ingest.
The 720 signal looks kind of soft as compared to the 1080 on both. Thanks,

Yes, I indeed have a good lens on the camera (Canon 17 X 7.6B)
so I don’t understand what I perceive as softness could actually be “progressive artifacting” at 720 PN.
and if the “native” CCD block is 720 then one would guess that would be the optimal shooting format as well, or am I missing something? Thanks,

Nate,
The Canon HJ17X7.6 w/2x extender.
Thanks,

So far I’ve been impressed with my 500. Good investment.
However I might say I also invested in a really good HD lens which makes a big difference in image quality. The lens cost almost twice as much as the camera; but I’ll always have the lens even if I trade up to a higher level camera.
I suggest, if you can; find a dealer where you can compare the 200, 500 and 2000, side by side. Also try different lens combos while you’re at it.Best

Thanks guys!
Good ol’ Adobe. I guess I’ll turn off the feature until Adobe releases a patch; or try the the adding handles to clip trick.
Oh well.Happy New Year all!

Sorry to jump in here at the end of the thread, but I just caught it.
I also have experienced “bright frames”. I was using the Keylight plug-in to key HD footage.
Is the multiprocessor option problem a bug to be addressed by Adobe or is it something that we have to live with?
The multi-processor feature really helps in CS3 performance so I’d hate to have to sacrifice this option. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info Bob. I went to the Varizoom site to check the Canon version of the controller and discovered they market a remote focus controller (VZ EFC) as well. This looks mighty interesting for my purposes. I’ll have to call Varizoom to inquire if it will work with my lens.

Bob,
Did I read your last post correctly…
“Varizoom zoom & focus controls (make sure it’s the right pinset for your lens)”When I purchased my HPX500 I invested in a Canon HJ17x7.6B HDTV lens. I would like to control the focus with a “on the handle” gizmo. Mostly because I’m operating the camera on a short jib.
Which model focus control did you find to work w/ your Fuji. Thanks for input.
