Hi. I’m trying to do what you’re saying, but I still have the same problem. When I either use Command-click while using the pen tool OR simply using the Selection tool, all I can manage to do is move the entire mask around instead of just one of the points. (I’m trying to finish the do-it-yourself “Creating Motion Graphics” book, so in a sense I am “RTFM”.)
One workaround that I found was simply deleting one of the points. Yes, this sorta screws up my initial mask, but all I do then is just add a new one. Only at that moment do all of my points go back to being hollow squares instead of solid, allowing me to then modify the points individually. I know it’s not supposed to work this way, but it at least allows me to keep going. Thanks for chiming in with useful info.

January 11, 2010 at 2:25 pm in reply to: Modifying a project template from Adobe BridgeHi, Bruce. I poked around everywhere in that decoder preset, but just couldn’t find where the characters get randomized. Is it possible that one little portion of the preset isn’t editable? Maybe I just skipped over it while searching, but I just did not see where it is. Thanks.

Well, this certainly explains why my pattern was distorting in the middle of the ball! How in the world did you come up with this??
I don’t suppose you also have the patterns for a baseball, basketball, etc? I just posted a thread about making a baseball that I can spin in 3D. I guess the secret is to just have the flat pattern handy. Thanks so much for the picture.

Hi, Rafa. No to both. We were considering a total reload of the OS, and then an upgrade to Snow Leopard. Do you think this might be a bit premature? (I don’t know what those guys at the Mac store did, but this machine is really screwed up after getting it back)

Sorry. Tiger 10.4.11, but the computer was having some issues beforehand. (I should’ve mentioned that from the start) The original problem was that the machine wouldn’t start up. We took it to a Mac store and they said they fixed it, but now everything is screwed up. Even typing this reply here, the text response off my keyboard is really sluggish.
This problem is maybe more Mac, and not so much XDCAM? Is it possible to just download and run an upgrade to Snow Leopard? 🙂

Wow! Look at all these posts. Sorry for the late reply, everyone. I normally don’t check until I get home. Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Hi, David. Same thing. I can toggle to FCP, but selecting it still does nothing. I’ve gotten very used to saving my work every 5 minutes since this problem started. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to do a hard reboot so I can get back to my FCP!

Hi, Tom. Sometimes when I unlink a video clip from its audio clip (to arrange my timeline the way I want it to be), I get a little loose when I drag the audio clip to a different track. Naturally the red “-3” or “+whatever” indication shows up on the video/audio clips letting me know I’ve knocked them out of sync. During one of my lynda.com sessions I learned of a keyboard shortcut to put the two back in sync, but I just can’t remember where that little hint was, that’s all. Gracias!
