Hi, all. I’m playing around with some text animation, and I found a preset in Bridge that’s sorta close to what I’m attempting to do. It’s the “Decoder Fade In.ffx” preset. I like the random character generation, but is there any way to make it keep generating the randomness, rather than finally settling on a final character? I’d like to have a line of text filling in one character at a time, but have it stay revolving with each character. Any ideas? Thanks.

Once you use the template on your project, you can change any of the settings that make that effect. It is merely a preset set of effect and keyframes, but anything in After Effects is editable.

Hi, Bruce. I poked around everywhere in that decoder preset, but just couldn’t find where the characters get randomized. Is it possible that one little portion of the preset isn’t editable? Maybe I just skipped over it while searching, but I just did not see where it is. Thanks.
