Eric/Mark, thanks for the replies. Mark, would you happen to know if that non-latency also extends to the Express version of PT? I think I’ll be able to get away with using that version on 4 of my 5 iMacs. It seems like the Express version would work, since it’s a lighter version with less actual data to xfer back and forth.

Looks like I’ll be running some gig E cable next. Thanks again.

Alain, one more quick question. The Digi 002 can do 8 simultaneous line inputs, right? I know 1-4 are mic/line, but 5-8 should input fine at the same time, right?

Thanks, Alain! Great news. Time to start shopping. Hello Ebay! Take care.

    Sorry.

    Mac v10.5.8
    AE v9.0.3.8
Yes, both updated (there’s an iTunes update outstanding, which I doubt is going to help)
This has been happening for a year or so now. I posted about it.
As mentioned, the OS has been updated, so any video driver updates would’ve been in that.

    Thanks.

Hey Shane, looks like I signed off this one too soon. (I already have MPEG Streamclip and have used it before, so I figured this one was done) Is there a better forum to ask a question about Streamclip? I don’t see one in the list of forums.

Wait, there IS more! I can scrub the clip in the Canvas with the mouse fine, but when I try to double-click it into the Viewer, I get the “General Error” box followed by a “Error: Out of Memory” box.

I know 2GB isn’t exactly a lot, but can this really be a low memory thing? I’ve cut hour-long projects in the past without that message.

@ Noah: Sorry, dude. What a thing to leave out. It’s a Panasonic HMC-150.

@ Rafa: Thanks! I’ll check it out.

  • This is amazing…I was just about to start checking this camera out, and then I found this thread!

I’m a bit familiar with Sony’s XDCAM camera, which uses those expensive SxS cards and that proprietary XDCAM Transfer software. Would acquiring footage from this Panasonic work in a similar manner?
