March 10, 2017 at 3:46 am in reply to: Track Motion Keyframe added even when Sync cursor uncheckedYes. Same behavior in VP14 .. undo bounces you back to the head of the Track motion timeline, 00:00:00. Bummer.

March 10, 2017 at 12:12 am in reply to: Track Motion Keyframe added even when Sync cursor uncheckedI just tried this is VP13 .. I see the problem now — just as you described.
I think it has to do with HOLD. The work around is to place all your keyframes first as LINEAR and then go back and make them all HOLD or the ones you need for the effect.
VP14 seems not to have the problem at all.

March 10, 2017 at 12:02 am in reply to: Track Motion Keyframe added even when Sync cursor uncheckedThanks for taking the time to explain with the screen grabs.
I can’t duplicate that behavior. Maybe I don’t get it ?? .. When I create the second keyframe, I see it in preview exactly — no need to move the timeline forward to see the placement — and as long as I stay on that keyframe, I can adjust all I want without creating an unwanted keyframe. I think this is normal behavior. What your seeing, to me, is not the way things should work.
Something might be up here with your system — or like I said — I may not be getting it.
With sync cursor on, can you go back with the Track Motion cursor to one of the already created keyframes and do track motion adjustments, seeing those adjustments in preview as you do them?

March 9, 2017 at 10:45 pm in reply to: Track Motion Keyframe added even when Sync cursor uncheckedI agree with Laszlo .. there is no way to turn off automatic keyframing. When you change your track motion setting, a new keyframe is created, unless there already is a keyframe at that exact position.
>>to make changes to that new keyframe (after moving Timeline cursor forward a touch so I can see changes
>> in the video preview. More often than not track motion creates a new keyframe at the new time line cursor positionI’d say you should leave the “sync cursor” on all the time.
Why do you need to move the timeline cursor forward to see preview? If you just leave the cursor where you just created a new keyframe, you should be able to adjust Track Motion and see it in the preview without creating another keyframe. The trick is to STAY exactly on the newly created Keyframe.
Preview is controlled by the Timeline cursor, not the Track Motion Timeline cursor, but if “sync cursor” is ON, you should be ok as they would be at the same position. Unless I’m misunderstanding you.

Ok if what you want is to copy one of the FX in a chain back to the same event:
Create the FX you want to copy. THis will place itself at the end of the chain. Looking like this:
Pan/crop > Effect 1Save this as a preset called Effect1.
Now, add another FX to the chain. Anything will do. Lets say Color Curves So we now have.
Pan/crop > Effect 1 > ColorCurvesNow add Effect 1 again, this time using the preset so that it is exactly like the first Effect1 in the chain. Now you have
Pan/crop >Effect 1 >ColorCurves >Effect 1Now select Color curves and do “remove selected plug-in” You chain now looks like this.
Pan/crop >Effect 1 >Effect 1When saving the preset, If you have multiple FX in the chain, ( like Pan/crop >Effect1 >Effect2 >Effect 3) just uncheck everything except the one you want to save.
Not elegant — but this should do what you want — If I understand you.

I see that the map thing is part of Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 .. but I don’t see it with Movie Studio?

DId you use any plug-ins, like NewBlue, in the projects that won’t open?
-
Can you create a new Vegas 14 project, save it, close it and then re-open as normal?

I’m not sure I understand what you mean when you say ” I want to minimize project clutter.avoiding project clutter” .
You don’t need to duplicate an event to copy it’s attributes, just copy the event (Ctrl-c) and paste the attributes into your new event.

March 6, 2017 at 4:24 am in reply to: Movie Studio 14.0 Platinum Isn’t Showing the Full Render Screen (Advanced Options) – So I can’t Render – Windows 10Could be the display scaling (or dpi scaling) in Windows 10. Worth a shot to try to adjust that.
This can truncate windows within Vegas. Known problem.
