Hi, I think maybe it’s related to the AMC new AVCHD import capability. I wonder if it does that on pc too. Oh, its probaly the the new unc naming specifications stuffs…
exemple of my files from an avchd import:

As a work around, I suggest dumping your tape on the nas, as an omf file. ther’s nothing new here but at least it’s worthy of mention. Oh yeah maybe try to copy the freshly created file using the os.

Is it possible to open a sequence without promoting it when you maid the mistake of saying yes to auto promote on open? How to reverse it?

Yep It’s a client request I can do. It’s child play to copy I know but, most of the my client’s customer are no even close to be computer literate.
His any DLT tape work work well for the duplicator? My old software work well with mine, at least. Its a Quantum DLT VS-160.

Just add-up to the subject, I use Grass Valley Procoder 3 on pc side. Not cheap, but flexible and powerfull.

8 months letter but still, I just fall in that problem for days of back sweat. I got 2 long play (70 min) edits and many stuffs in dv on 1 drive for 6000 files or so in databse. The fact is, try to find a or many bad currupted file(s) is hard end invoke costly time and a lot of gigs of manualy copying of database files. I did and it was the case. Seems Xpress pro is not that good at managing corrupted file as irrelevents ones in is OMFI directory. It started building up all my database when i get ride of the currupted ones.

My replicator does’nt wont to work with DL either. In fact, they work on dvd-5 only with Tayu…DVDs and a pionner burner. The BEST: gave them an image on a hard drive if you can’t afford a DLT, if they take that.
We gonna have troubles with HDdvds before we can master from dl discs! 🙂
