Mark In mark out defines a range that you can keyword. You can have multiple ranges too: shift-cmd-I and shift-cmd-O for subsequent ranges; keyword them once.

I would strongly recommend a light read through the manual and/or some training like Ripple’s. You will save time in the end. Lots.

Hi,

the list/thumbnails selection buttons are on the bottom left of the screen, when importing camera archives. Don’t think you can get thumbs when importing from your hard drive, just the option to view or not the ausio waveforms.

It is still there on Camera Archive import but not when importing from a hard drive. Wasn’t this always the case ?

Hi,

you are not saying how much RAM you operate with and that could be an issue. Also, you state early 09 MacPro and that, by FCPX standards, is getting a bit old or at least less than optimum.

I can’t speak for the BM card behaviour as I use AJA. Also the dual graphics cards is sometimes a cause of worry. You could try to replace those with a single 5870 ATI and see if you fare better.

1) Hook up external disk to computer

2)In FCPX go to file > Move Event

3) Move your Projects as well

4) Done

Whilst transfer goes on, open FCPX manual for a good read 😉

Thanks for the tip.

I just tried that and got the same result…

as soon as the next snap shot is selected the alignment is off. Using Paragraph it shifts the text to the left though the alignment button indicates centered. If alignment is part of the widget, trying to remove it from it results in a crash. Pushing another alignment button also…

Did you hit CMD-SHIFT-1 ? That would hide the Event library…

As for a document on the commands how about the … manual ? Chapter 17 starting at page 438 lists all the shortcuts and comments.

The manual is a searcheable pdf, so no great effort required there…

Your camera does not appear in the compatibility list on apple’s website https://help.apple.com/finalcutpro/cameras/en/index.html?

however, check page 30 of the manual, maybe there’s something in there for you ?

Pre 10.0.6 I did have similar crashes in similar circumstances.

It seems that there was a “speed limit” to the skimming I could do in the browser. That was the cause of most crashes and those crashes were without consequences.

Event was roughly 800 GB of mixed media and I had, by the end, about 15 versions of the project, a half hour doc. with little effects or retimings.

I haven’t had a project that big since so i can’t compare with 10.0.7
