If not mistaken there is some “data” correction since the 2800 has a TBC (time base corrector) that includes a drop out compensator, just like most professional analogue vtrs of yesteryears…
Now the 2800 never was the top of the line and a BVW 75 would have better TBC performance if my memory serves me well… but this is a while ago though.
This will not fix all dropouts and you may want to invest in something like Digital Heaven’s drop out compensation filter.

Easiest way is to download and installPreference Manager from Digital Rebellion. It will save your prefs (and all those of the other software in the fcs suite if you wish) in one tidy file.
Having said that it is always good to know where they reside and for that I leave you to spend 5 minutes with your manual…

Wether the Pro or regular version, the installer provided with the Twixtor plugin you bought should have installed it in the proper place.
You should not have to “put it” in any folder by yourself… Try reinstalling?

I did not say there wouldn’t be a way to assign or route tracks, just that after showing me the dazzling bits I would have liked them to answer the obvious question that said bits raised….
Like Jeremy I am sure there will be a way, for without one it will be difficult to call this a tool for the pros…

That a lot of these new features were optional was pointed out repeatedly throughout the presentation, which should reassure those who are afraid to get an imovie on steroids.
I for one hope that I’ll be able to get rid of the thumbbails, audio waves and other decorations until I need them – at the hit of a few shortcuts such as they are today: alt + cmd + w, and their sibbling alt + w for timeline adjustments of levels.
Heck, I even hope that there will be a customizable interface à la Avid. And that I’ll still be able to do 90% of my editing using the keyboard.
But where they really left me hanging is with all that trackless stuff. What of track assignment? routing?
Oh well, June is just round the corner, or almost…

If memory serves right there used to be an incompatibility between the two “flavors” of MXF operating levels (Op Atom and Op A). At least on versions of Avid from 2 years ago or so.
Also I remember Sequence settings being wrong as Avid AAF exports did not flag 16/9 correctly.
Haven’t dealt with this in a while and things have hopefully improved since.

Hi,
If you use Boris Title crawl, which has a “none” position for the animation (!), you get the option to overide the text wrapping. I did a quick test and you can definitely get your “template” to be aligned horizontaly, no matter what you type.
In my trial I did not manage to have the text start vertically in the same position but I don’t have time now to fiddle with this right now. Maybe there is a way to secure this as well. Oh well, half a solution then…

Don’t know of an automated way to do this but “+12, enter , O, F12” will give you a 13 frames insert to start with and that’s if you use F10 and not F12 which superimposes to whatever duration the underlying clip is.

Look for “Storyboard Editing” in your manual. You can do this in one sweep if you create a black clip first, or edit the clips in first in one go and then insert black between each clip in a separate pass (next clip /insert).
