Yes, for my application, the JL Cooper Eslomo works well. I can call multiple units up to cue timecode point and play within 1 frame accuracy. Also works with Hyperdecks as well at the same time. I also have had good success with the DNF ST300, just don’t hit stop twice.

I often use my Ki-Pro’s for playout! One show in particular I play 4 decks simultaneous, 4 screens in sync. Another use is for stingers or fast access for awards shows. I create a show reel in FCP, putting all clips usually in order, then recall each clip via timecode using a JL Cooper es-slomo-j controller, which I can control up to 4 decks with, and random access up to 1000 cue points by cue #. Works well with scripted show with pre-produced content, and full random access.

I’m currently using the JL Cooper eslomo-j 4 deck slomo controller for timecode locates and multiple unit playout for live event-works like a charm! Allows me to set up to 1000 cue points and full transport control of any of 4 decks simultaneous. Also works great for gang recording up to 4 decks! A gangway controller can be added for up to 16 deck control if needed!

I wish I had read this thread before I ordered one and spent another $500 on a ssd drive, I don’t wish to sit on this unit like the purchase order I had on my desk for 11 months for the H.264pro I finally got a couple of months ago.

I really needed to have the RS422 control, as well as embedded timecode to be able to record and playback in match frame from a JL Cooper controller.

Don’t think I will wait god knows how many months for Future Features when they are listed as now.

    Very very disappointed!

On a good note, the ATEM 1ME switcher I installed out of the box last month was fully functional, as advertised!

  • As far as a playout machine, I currently use multiple KiPro’s controlled via RS422 by Showplay software for multi- screen and edge blend content with Barco Encore systems, as well as for time-synced playout for symphony conductors timing marks video to keep in sync with movie content.

I have had a similar experience with my units, i now always run 2 simultaneous records for critical shows as a result. It has occurred with both my units (not at the same time) but when both were fed from the same AJA reclocking d/a- again in SD- no problems in HD. Had a subrental unit do the same once too. Have not had it happen yet with 2.0, but haven\’t had many SD jobs since upgrading either.
