Avid internal media management doesn’t have that function, never has.
Consolidation is Avids tool. And as I mentioned you can see the original source clips and consolidate them whole.
There are 3rd party tools that can search out the source files from a sequence but they all cost.But unless there are issues with the source metadata Avid should relink across original master clips and consolidated subclips.
If you have a sequence and you re-link as long as that media exists at that timecode Avid should relink to it. This happens hundred of times a week across the Post industry.

You should be able to consolidate with handles and edit with that media and if need be relink a sequence sent to you made from the pre consolidated media.
That’s a core MC function.
But of course if the other editor uses media outside you consolidated time codes you can’t relink.No easy way in Avid to “collect”
Only the used clips. But in the set bin display you can enable show sources (in a bin with just your sequence in it) you then get sub clips that show the used media but full master clips of the original sources.
Just consolidate the full masterclips to a new drive.Pat Horridge

Consolidating in Avid has few options exactly because it doesn’t transcode the footage.
You get the same codec wrapped in an MXF wrapper.
Transcoding is where the codec and potentially quality can be adjusted.However not all sources can be consolidated. Avid will only consolidate content it supports.
Its not normal to consolidate your sources as it can limit the graders options. Normally a list is made of all the sources used (no point sending source files not used in the edit)
And those sources collected together and sent, in a drive if need be.

Yes currently that’s correct.
MC still supports alpha of the OS supports QT. Catalina doesn’t so that’s the pinch point.Pat Horridge

Nope the need to replace the QT support with the new UME is rolling ong but not hot to alphas yet.
Still a range of features to bring online.
If your on new Macs it’s tough.

What’s your max not range you plan to grade to?
If it’s 1000 nits the 311 is the better panel by the looks of it but more expensive.
If high then I’d go with the 310 at 3K nits.Pat Horridge
