Without the project or the Avid attic all your choices on using that media are gone.
You cab drag the .mdb database files from each numbered mxf folder into bins to recreate the clips but that just gives you the Raw media.
Drop box is a good idea but be aware that if they power up the stolen imac they can empty the drop box!
We advise daily backup of the project to the media drive and walk away wirh it on a USB stick.
Also you will need to contact avid support to deactivate the license.

Or drag the sequence to the source monitor. Make a new sequence. Patch the tracks as required. A2 to A1 and video if needed and then edit the whole thing across.

Could it be the files are a Prores flavour rather than pucker Apple prores? We are seeing a growning number of 3rd party Prores files that look like Prores but are treated by various apps as not real Prores. I normally use FCP to look at them to see what it thinks.

No that should be fine. the offline editor shouldn’t need the AMA sources until the offline sequence moves to online. At that stage they will need to relink the final offline sequence to the AMA sources and for that they will need to re-mount the AMA sources they need just for the final sequence.
In fact keeping the AMA sources linked in the offline project is using up additional RAM and potentially slowing the system down.

Well in the old days an edit assistant would have made a custom column and manually added a date.

How was the prores clip created. There are a number of 3rd party prores encoders that make prores “type” files but they cause all sorts of issues.

Don’t forget new media is generated into the 1 folder so you can keep that free to manage local media creation.

Lots of dubbing mixers prefer to remove the offline editors audio adjustments. Audio keyframes/rubberbanding can be ignored on import. Your cuts can’t. So it can make it harder in the dub.

You may have issues going back to the v6.5 system from the v8.

V8 has a lot of changes over v6.5 and that may complicate things. I’d work wirh matching versions.
