I appreciate the response.

You have to understand that my experience with Adobe has been less than pleasing…I have installed and deinstalled portions of CS3 at least a half a dozen times on this machine and at work. The outsourced support experience was miserable. I am a well traveled person…am used to accents, yet these guys were barely understandable.

I am not exaggerating that I have spent days…more likely weeks trying to get Adobe software to run in the past two months. I appreciate your help…but hope you can understand my situation. I have a very, very important video which needs to be done in less than two weeks…and here I am, trying to get software to work.

I am currently deinstalling CS3. I will follow that with the wipe utility that you suggest….This will burn up a few hours of time.

By the way, if anyone knows a place in Seattle that is good with troubleshooting Adobe software, please let me know.

Some more specifics regarding #2:

There are several projects for a handful of clients. The venues are open to the public for free…one assumes that because of this there should be no “expectation of privacy.”

We could get a few “extras” to appear as the public and get them to sign off on releases…that’s more than a bit of hassle because there are several venues.

Ok, I have fiddled with playback quality and sound settings. No improvement there.

I updated the drivers for the Nvidia Quadro NVS-285. Now the accelerated GPU radio button in playback setting will stay chosen instead of popping over to conpatible. But no improvement in main problem.

The main thing I have discovered is that if you turn off the DSR-11, the program monitor will play fine. I have attempted to check if there is a problem with a setting in the deck but nothing is obvious.

Thanks for any further ideas. Googling in general and on Adobe does not turn up anything.

I will check that out when I get to work. However, am using a Sony DSR-11 for capture and to feed signal to the NTSC monitor…soooo, ultimately I have to have the firewire connection working to send the signal to the tv monitor. That how I have this machine…my home machine set up. The difference is that I have a stronger graphics card here…geforce 7800 gs…this one has 258mg of ram.

I have it on very good authority that development is proceeding on the export to Final Cut functionality in Premiere Pro.

I am on XP….I hope I will be getting a Windows 7 machine in the next few months.

I am not sure what Mac OS my editor’s machine is using; however, it never worked with a MacDrive formatted external hard drive from my machine. It locked up.

I still don’t understand about using the Cineform codec…where do you choose the codec in Premiere.

I don’t understand how one sets Cineform to be used as the codec.

Also, I had trouble moving material from my pc to the Mac via an external hard drive. I was told to format the hard drive with a program (Mac Drive?) But it still froze up the Mac.
