That really sounds too good to be true.
After you crossgraded from 5 to 5.1 when you open it does it still say Academic? I did the crossgrade back then but when I open it I still get the Academic on FCP.
Also I wonder if we’ll have to re-purchase most 3rd party plug ins.

I am about to make a purchase on a new Macpro and I am trying to come up with the best set up for my use.
Could you please let me know how your installation of the new FCP7 from 5.1 goes?

Maybe but we upgraded to FCS2 academic.

This is all confusing because if that’s the case, how did we upgrade in our school from FCS1 to FCS2? We did it by buying the upgrade and installing it.

Now when you install it your software will still be Academic. Things may changed now but that’s what we have done in the past.

What I believe is that you cannot upgrade from Academic to Full version.
