I’ve been using AE for over 8 years but started using FCPS for the last 2 years. I immediately fell in love with the editor and the integration with motion and the other apps, but hated motion. Ever since I’ve been wanting to be able to go back and forth applications without having to render the clip (in the editor) I have to take to AE (so that I can take only the frames I need from the clip), make my composition in AE, delete the video in AE (the one I had previously rendered in FCP), render the animation with alpha (no video track), go back to FCP put my animation in a new layer (on top of the video I had previously rendered) and re render to see everything is in it’s place.
If I use the dynamic link between Premiere and AE I would select a clip, open it in AE, make my comp, go back to premiere and…. thats it.
    Is my work flow wrong?
Is there a easier way to do this?

I make corporate videos which are anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes, So there are times I do go back and forth quite a bit.

I want to avoid all the rendering that I’m doing when switching apps.

I’ve done that and it’s not working. I was missing the multiply tag at render settings. But I’m still not getting a shadow.

I tracked footage in PFhoe and export it to C4D, all the camera information is there. I added text and added a floor to crate the text shadow. Now I need to make the floor invisible but still be able to see the projected shadow.

Thanks everyone. I think I solved it by using metaballs and thinking particles. I think it’s working, I hope the particles react the way they should when I animate the bottle.

I’ve been reaserching about blenders fluid dynamics, and I am amazed. I cant believe you can get something so powerful on a FREE application. I’ve been trying to use it, but the interface SUCKS bigtime. The thing is, I’m going to have to learn it just for the fluids, and praying one day the people at Maxcom decide to add an engine like that to their very expensive app.

For some reason the booleans are not working properly, this is a simple text with some lights and textures and for some reason it’s not registering some letters and it’s making my computer very slow.
At first glance I thought it was way better than Lightwave booleans since they were non destructive, and I don
