    Hi,

i’ve upgraded a couple of systems and the green line issue
on dv as gone, and the systems seem to be more stable: we like that 😉

You might not want to do in the middle of a project…

I had to do it for one System ( 10.4.2 + FCP 5.2 ) and it went very
well but please do not forget to fix permissions on the drive before and after installs.

    Your milleage might vary

  • Hi Matt,

That would be great…. i’ll send you an email off the forum.

BTW: The green line problem has been fixed in FCP 5.2.

    Huge relief lol.

    HI,

i’m not quite sure, might call the boys at BM to find out if
they managed to solve the green line issue on Dv footage
captured through firewire then played out through SDI.
Not quite sure if it’s a BM or FCP 5 issue.

    HI,

don’t know much of the sony deck,

if you need component i/o and RS422 deck Control
then go for the Sony DSR 45.

    A very good deck.

    Hi There,

i have in the past digitised video
through component to a deckling Extreme and these
JVC Decks without a problem, Used the RS422 FOR DECK
Control, you have to check if you do have the XLR option
on the deck as the basic setup doesn’t have have XLR for
    audio.

so you’ll need to convert the xlr of the decklink to the RCA
    of the JVC.

    Hi There,

well that is the only way you can output HDV
to a broadcast monitor at present, so this is a big Pro.

    Hi Walter,

so the automatic duck is working well with FCP 5?
did you have to use the name trick ” to get the Aja drivers loaded?
and lastly are you using tiger?

I remembered a few weeks ago you mentioned
that the duck wasn’t working for you.
